International terminology

These terms allocate cost, risk, insurance, transport, and customs responsibilities between buyer and seller. Confirm the selected term on the supplier quotation.

EXW	Ex Works	Buyer assumes transportation, export, risk, and import responsibilities from the seller’s premises.
FCA	Free Carrier	Seller delivers to the agreed carrier/location and handles export clearance.
FOB	Free On Board	Seller is responsible until sea cargo is loaded; buyer assumes onward risk and cost.
CFR	Cost and Freight	Seller pays freight to destination port; risk transfers when cargo is loaded and buyer arranges insurance.
CIF	Cost, Insurance and Freight	CFR plus minimum seller-arranged marine cargo insurance.
CPT	Carriage Paid To	Seller pays carriage; risk transfers when goods reach the first carrier.
CIP	Carriage and Insurance Paid To	CPT plus seller-arranged cargo insurance.
DAP	Delivered at Place	Seller delivers ready for unloading; buyer handles import clearance, duties, and taxes.
DPU	Delivered at Place Unloaded	Seller transports and unloads; buyer handles import customs and duties.

FCL and LCL

FCL uses an entire container for one customer. LCL combines cargo from multiple shippers, with each paying for occupied space.

OEM and ODM

OEM manufactures to a buyer-owned brand and requirements. ODM designs and manufactures products that another business can rebrand.

Cargo insurance

Cargo insurance is available at an additional cost. Availability and cost are determined after review of the product-classification details; sensitive products and goods classified as dangerous require individual review. Insurance is not automatic and applies only when arranged and confirmed before shipment. Keystone Global Limited coordinates this option but is not the insurer.
